ANZCHOG-BN biobanking workshop at Pullman Cairns International on 16th October 2019, in conjunction with the 2019 ABNA meeting
The ANZCHOG-BN held its second biobanking workshop in conjunction with the 2019 ABNA meeting in Cairns on 16th October 2019, supported by funding from Tour de Cure. The workshop covered the topics of retrospective vs prospective biobanking, biobank databases, modifying sample formats stored to support research of the future, and strategies to improve support for both national and international research. All attendees benefit a great deal from the discussions and from the face to face interactions with other network members.Read More

For the past 20 years the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) have provided a forum for the discussion, debate and dissemination of knowledge related to biobanking practice and activity around the world. Through ISBER the world now has a set of Best Practice Recommendation for biobanking which has sparked groups like the International Standards Organization (ISO) to commence developing ISO standard documents that govern and direct biobank development.
