ANZCHOG-BN members Dr Rose Boutros (ANZCHOG-BN Project Coordinator) and Ms Helen Morrin (Curator of the Christchurch Tissue Bank) facilitated a roundtable discussion on biobank networking. Helen was invited to speak on engaging the indigenous community in New Zealand to develop a culturally responsive biobank. Rose presented a poster on the establishment of the ANZCHOG-BN. A/Prof Dan Catchpoole (Head of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Tumour Bank) stepped into his new role as President-elect of ISBER by chairing various sessions and workshops. Dr Li Zhou from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Tumour Bank presented a poster on the 20 year journey of a hospital embedded paediatric tumour bank.
Australian/ New Zealand biobankers gathered together in the evenings to explore the local food and the 118th floor of the famous Shanghai tower.
